Garment Design

My personal practice which I work on within my idle time focuses on upcycling and reworking workwear garments and creating handsewn sweaters. My personal label for the practice, Director’s Cut, is a creative outlet and platform for more commercially viable pieces. In the development of the label, I have created my own logos and graphics, embroidered garment labels, techpacks and my own website, as well as promotional media. The label is centred on creating merchandise of my favourite musicians within the context of handmade garments. Through the development of my personal practice, I have developed skills within the Adobe Suite, contact with manufacturers, web development and social media content creation, on top of refining my patternmaking abilities, sewing of fininshed garments and tech pack creation.

The label has been successful commercially, and the most noteable achievement is the celebrity endorsement from US rapper Aminé, who wore the sweater on stage at a show and posted the sweater on instagram in a tagged post.
